Removing eights

Eights are the teeth that give patients the most problems and inconvenience, especially when erupting in a position that prevents their complete eruption. Quite often, however, the problem is that they hardly fit in the mouth causing a lot of trouble. If the figure eight eruption has stopped and the tooth is invisible, its position is often incorrect, which can damage the roots of the remaining molars. Stopping may be painful and cause swelling. Additionally, eights are most prone to caries because access to them is difficult. This makes it much more difficult to clean them, and the food remaining in their vicinity causes the formation of bacteria.

Practical tips – how to prepare for the treatment:

  1. At the first consultation visit, the doctor takes a pantomographic picture, thanks to which he can see the position of the tooth and the course of its roots
  2. It is best for the patient to spend about 2-3 days for possible control in the event of any side effects. Most often, on the second or third day, swelling may occur, which is a natural reaction of the body and should not worry the patient
  3. Before the treatment itself, it is best to eat a light but caloric meal
  4. Alcoholic beverages should not be consumed before the wisdom teeth are removed – they cause acidification of the body, which reduces the effects of anesthetics.
  5. it is important to rest and relax before the procedure, and trust the doctor’s knowledge and experience during the procedure
